Free Resources for Mental Health and Well-Being

Hi everyone,

Today I felt guided to share something a little different. Whether you're navigating a difficult time mentally or emotionally, supporting someone who is, or simply looking to care for your mental well-being in a deeper way—these free resources might offer some support.

I’ve included four different tools below, and I hope at least one of them resonates with where you are on your journey. 🙂

🌿 1. Finch Self-Care Pet App

This is such a sweet and supportive app. Finch is a virtual pet that grows and evolves as you complete self-care activities—things like to-do lists, breathing exercises, meditations, journaling prompts, and more. It’s playful but also deeply helpful if you’re trying to build or strengthen your well-being habits.🟡 Totally free, available on iOS and Android🐥 Bonus: the pet is really cute, and it gives you encouragement without pressure.

✨ 2. Somatic Exercises (YouTube Channel)

If you're feeling low energy, anxious, or just disconnected from your body, somatic exercises can be incredibly grounding. This YouTube channel offers gentle, trauma-informed movements that are easy to follow—even from bed. Perfect for before sleep, or when you need something simple and calming.💛 I recommend this to everyone—especially on hard days.

🌿 3. Just a Thought – Free Online CBT Courses

This NZ-based platform offers free, clinically proven online courses based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help manage anxiety, depression, and worry. 🧠 You can go at your own pace, privately, from home.

💬 4. The Lowdown – Help for Young People (but great for all ages)

This is an amazing NZ-based site offering support for anxiety, depression, stress, and life struggles. It includes:

  • Personal stories

  • Self-care tools

  • Free text/chat with trained counselors

💛 A Final Note

If you’re reading this, I just want to say: you’re doing better than you think. Even reaching out for help, or just clicking on a link, is a brave and beautiful step. Healing doesn’t look the same for everyone—some days it’s a deep breath, a message to a friend, or a short walk outside. And that’s enough.

You are not alone. There are people who care, resources to support you, and a future version of you who is so proud of how far you’ve come.

Be gentle with yourself. One small step at a time is still moving forward. 🌱

With love and light

Giuliana
